Nikos returns from Greece

Last week I traveled back to Greece for the friendly game with the National team. We won 2-0. More importantly the team seems to be in a very good shape. The moral is high and I am sure that as we get closer to the day that we will be going to Portugal the team’s excitement will get higher and higher! There are more friendly games to come before that day. I am sure the manager will have plenty of opportunities to see the team in action and make his final decisions. In any way, everyone in the team will work hard over the next few months and I am sure that when the competition starts we will be ready.

Unfortunately things are not going so well with Leicester. In the last game we did not have the best of first halves against Tottenham . During the half time the manager tried to boost our morale in the dressing room and he did his job pretty well! We went back to the pitch and turn the whole game upside-down, from 3-1 to 3-4! It is an even bigger achievement when one considers the fact that we had to play with 10 men. Unfortunately Tottenham equialised and we were left with only one point for yet another game.

I can not explain why we keep on conceiving goals at the dying minutes. It can either be lack of concentration or the fact that it has happened a few times and everyone simply expects it to happen again! In fact if the last 3-4 games had finished in the 85th minute I am sure we would not have been at the bottom of the table. In either case we need to address this issue… by forgetting about it and get on with our game.

The forthcoming game against Wolves may be the most important game of the season. This game may actually determine whether we stay in the Premier League or not. I am confident we are all ready for it. We just need to clear our minds and concentrate on the task.
