I played with the reserves against West Brom on Tuesday. I have to admit that there is no comparison between playing at St James Park and playing at the other grounds where the reserves usually play. The pitch is much better and gives the players the opportunity to show their real skills. I think the 3 goals reflect that in the best possible way. I also had the chance to play for 15 minutes against Portugal in the international friendly match during the weekend. It was a good taste of what the Euro competition will be like. I guess nothing can get closer to the real thing than playing the hosts at their home! I was a bit disappointed not to play more, and especially not to get to start the game, but I can fully understand the manager's choice. Unless I get more action at a club level is will be very difficult to break into the starting line-up. A transfer in January seems the only way forward at this moment. I just hope this time the whole issue will be settle for good and their will be no more delays.
