A great day for Greek football!
|
Today was a great day for Greek football. I was very pleased to see both Panathinaikos and PAOK go through to the next stage of the UEFA cup. Panathinaikos had to face Fenerbahηe and everyone was very worried. However everything went as planned. The fans reacted as they should have. They supported the team passionately but in a civilised manner. PAOK also went through when they managed to equalise in the stoppage time! It was a day to remember for Greek football. Although there have been many problems lately as far as the first division is concerned our teams manage to perform well in the European competitions. I should also mention AEK Athens. They did not manage to qualify to the next stage of the Champions League but still got point home and away playing against Real Madrid and Roma. Now we have three teams in the 32 remaining teams of the UEFA competition. I hope to see them all through to the next round!
