Greece will have to face Spain, Ukraine, Northern Ireland and Armenia, in order to qualify for Euro 2004. "All groups have at least one strong team. I believe Spain will be top of the table, as they are the strongest team in the group. Our goal will be to at least get to be the second team when the qualifying games are over. Then we will at least have the change to qualify through the extra games. Ukraine will be our main opponent in the race for the second place. Just like Spain they have top class players in their team, but in a sense our task is much easier than having to play England and Germany in order to qualify. We have shown what we can do and our team's moral is higher than it used to be, especially after the game against England. I hope this time we will manage to qualify and please our fans."

The tournament will take place in Portugal with the qualifying games will start on the 7th of 8th of September 2002.
